About the Artist

I’m Florina Schiess—artist by heart, doctor by calling, and founder of Resonance Art Studios. My journey began with paint on my hands and wonder in my eyes as a child captivated by color and emotion. Art was my first love, nurtured through high school, where mentors encouraged me to pursue it professionally. But life had a different path in store.

I chose medicine, a field where compassion meets science—and for years, I poured my heart into caring for patients navigating some of life’s hardest moments: dementia, depression, cancer. Healing through connection became my everyday mission.

Yet, the artist in me never left. She simply waited.

Years later, I returned to art—this time not just as an outlet, but as a form of expression that complements my work in medicine. Resin became my medium of choice: fluid, unpredictable, luminous. Much like life, it flows where it wants, revealing beauty in the unexpected.

Through Resonance Art Studios, I create bold, evocative pieces that explore themes of transformation, emotion, and resilience. Every layer tells a story, echoing the human spirit I’ve witnessed in both my studio and my clinical practice.
